Rurouni Kenshin New Anime

The highly anticipated anime adaptation of the popular manga series, Rurouni Kenshin, is set to hit the airwaves on July 6 at 25:55 on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block. This two cours anime will feature all-new stories adapted from the original manga.

To further promote the series, the production team has planned screenings in various countries, including the United States, France, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and South Korea. 

Recently, the first two screenings were held in Tokyo’s United Cinema Aqua City Odaiba, attended by the cast members Sōma Saitō, Rie Takahashi, Makoto Koichi, and Taku Yashiro.

Directed by Hideyo Yamamoto, the series features Sōma Saitō as the main protagonist, Kenshin Himura, and Rie Takahashi as his co-star, Kaoru Kamiya. 

Taku Yashiro lend his voice to Sanosuke Sagara, while Makoto Koichi plays Yahiko Myojin. Yūma Uchida voices Shinomori Aoshi while Saori Ōnishi plays Takani Megumi. 

The character designing is done by Terumi Nishii and the series scriptwriter is Hideyuki Kurata. Yū Takami has composed the music, while Reol has lent her voice for the ending theme song, “Kissaki” (Sword Tip).

Previously, the Rurouni Kenshin manga series was on hiatus.

However, the series later resumed publication in June 2018. Despite the controversy surrounding the author, the manga has amassed a huge following with over 72 million copies in circulation worldwide. 

The story of Kenshin Himura, the former assassin seeking redemption and a new life beyond violence, has captivated fans globally.
